A Skin-Cell Temporary No. 2
During
the one-week residency program with Living Skin, Jun and his bike,
Sally, will embark on daily bike trips, recording each journey on a
personal mind map that captures both the erratic and peaceful qualities
of biking in the city. Using rubbing techniques and paper collage, Jun
will collect textures from various parts of Brooklyn, gathering marks
and evidence unique to each trip. With an interest in New York City’s
fast-paced rhythm, Jun and Sally’s collaborative effort will offer a
momentary retreat and a perspective that explores how speed and tempo
affect perception—both on and off the bike.
